We finally arrived into Cape Town - in a tiny aircraft, which looked even smaller when John Buchanan and Chris Gayle tried to get in together.

Bad news. Cheteshwar  Pujara is ruled out of the tournament with an ACL injury. The boys will miss him. In the 14 days in Bloem some strong bonds have been forged, and there were a few wet eyes  when we told the rest of the team the news.

Some good news - Ishant is here and looks fresh as a daisy. I cannot believe the invigorating effect of just 4 days of 'ghar ka khana'.

The Cullinan seems like a huge hotel, specially after the quiet Southern Star at Bloem. Five teams are staying here, and if you are privileged to be in the coffee ship in the evening, you will see the most unlikely friendships being struck - across nationalities and teams in this amazing carnival of cricket.

Speaking of friendships - Ashok Dinda and Chris Gayle are the odd couple of KKR. They are an absolute scream together. I wish I could reproduce their conversations, but it is far beyond my skills.

SRK met the boys yesterday, some like Anureet and Arindam for the first time. Again difficult to capture the flavour- but the rapport and empathy that he has for the team is something special.

Today, the boys will be on a float, part of the IPL carnival going through Cape Town. They were not too enthusiastic inititially, but seemed to perk up when thy heard they were sharing the float with the KKR angels.
